“Sono sempre stato affascinato da quei
busti di granito o di marmo, quelle effigie,
che siano di scrittori, di inventori o di filosofi,
sempre immobile e imperative. Come delle
figure mitiche sembrano, dal profondo del
loro silenzio, rendere vana la frenesia dei
vivi. Imperturbabili, ricordano la saggezza
dei padri. Questi busti vogliono cogliere
l’essenza e la semplicità del loro silenzio.
Perenni, cristallizzati, in una postura fiera e
saggia grazie alle mani esperte dei maestri
vetrai, sono per me come i paladini della
creazione in vetro, questa tradizione antica
come i gladiatori e i teologi.
Le
composizioni
cromatiche,
sempre
uniche grazie agli infiniti colori di Venini, si
conciliano alla diversità di anime che questi
busti rappresentano”
“I have always been fascinated by granite
or marble busts, those effigies, whether of
writers, inventors or philosophers, always
immovable and commanding. Like mythical
figures, from the depths of their silence,
they seem to make the frenzy of the living
sheer vanity. Unperturbed, they recall the
wisdom of our forefathers. These busts seek
to capture the essence and simplicity of
their silence. Perennial, crystallized, in a just
and wise pose thanks to the expert hands
of master glassmakers, they are for me
the glass paladins, continuing this ancient
tradition as gladiators and theologians. The
chromatic compositions, always unique
thanks to the boundless Venini, palette are
reconciled to the diversity of the souls they
represent.”
