“Mi chiamo John, ho trentaquattro anni e abito in
un appartamento appena fuori dal centro di Torino.
Sono nato e cresciuto a Londra da padre italiano e
madre inglese. Lavoro come grafico pubblicitario
in una delle più grosse agenzie della zona.
L’appartamento in cui vivo l’ho ereditato da mia
nonna Rita e l’ho arredato con cura secondo il
mio stile, un mix “metropolitano vintage”! Alcuni
oggetti che ho recuperato dalla soffitta dei miei o
tra le bancarelle dei mercatini o molto più spesso
on line condividono gli spazi con la mia collezione
di libri e riviste di design, arte e musica. Il mio
preferito resta la racchetta da tennis degli anni
settanta comprata su Depop l’anno scorso! L’ho
cercata per settimane e quando finalmente l’ho
vista in foto ho contatto subito il venditore, in due
giorni ero da lui per assicurarmi fosse in buone
condizioni e l’ho acquistata. Ho fatto un vero
affare e adesso è in bella mostra nella mia cucina!”
“My name is John, I am 34 years old and I live in
an apartment just outside the centre of Turin. I was
born and bread in London from an Italian father
and an English mother. I work as an advertising
graphic designer in one of the biggest agencies in
the area. I inherited the apartment where I live from
my grandmother Rita. I then furnished it carefully
according to my style, a “metropolitan vintage”
mix! I managed to fish out some ornaments in
my parents’ attic, at some markets or more often
online and I placed them next to my collection of
books and design, art and music magazines. My
favourite object is still a tennis racket from the
seventies that I bought last year on Depop! I had
been looking for it for weeks, then finally I saw it in a
photo and I immediately contacted the seller. After
2 days I went to see if it was in good conditions
and I bought it. I got an amazingly good deal and
now it is showing off in my kitchen!”
“Je m’appelle John, j’ai trente-cinq ans et j’habite
dans un appartement juste à l’extérieur du centre-
ville de Turin. Je suis né et j’ai grandi à Londres,
de père italien et de mère anglaise. Je travaille

J’ai hérité l’appartement dans lequel je vis de ma

Quelques objets que j’ai récupérés dans le
grenier de mes parents ou dans les brocantes ou
surtout sur internet se partagent l’espace avec ma
collection de livres et de revues de design, d’art et
de musique. Mon objet préféré est la raquette de
tennis des années soixante-dix achetée sur Depop
l’année dernière! Je l’ai cherchée pendant des
semaines et quand finalement je l’ai vue en photo
j’ai contacté tout de suite le vendeur. Deux jours
après, j’étais chez lui pour contrôler qu’elle était en
bonnes conditions et je l’ai achetée. J’ai fait une
bonne affaire et maintenant elle est exposée dans
ma cuisine!”
