Cicerone aveva ragione: una casa con un bel giardino e tanti libri è
un’ottima base per la felicità, soprattutto se hai vissuto per dieci anni a
Pechino, in un miniappartamento al 15° piano di un grattacielo, senza
neppure un balcone striminzito in cui coltivare un geranio.
A portarmi laggiù è stata la passione per i viaggi e per la cultura dell’Estremo
Oriente. Sono laureata in lingue orientali e ho conseguito un master in
marketing del turismo; in Cina organizzavo tour per chi desiderava scoprire
il nostro continente visitando le principali capitali e attrazioni europee, tra
cui ovviamente la mia città, Roma.
Cicéron avait raison : une maison avec un beau jardin et de nombreux livres
sont un bon départ pour être heureux, surtout si vous avez vécu à Pékin
pendant dix ans, dans un studio au 15ème étage d’un gratte-ciel, sans même
un petit balcon pour faire pousser un géranium.
Ce qui m’a amenée aussi loin, c’était la passion pour les voyages et la culture
de l’Extrême Orient. Je suis diplômée à la faculté de langues orientales et
j’ai fait un master en marketing du tourisme ; en Chine j’organisais des tours
pour les voyageurs qui souhaitaient découvrir notre continent et visiter les
principales capitales européennes, dont ma ville, Rome, bien évidemment.
Cicero was right: a house with a beautiful garden and lots of books is an
excellent formula for happiness, especially if you have lived for ten years in
Beijing, in a mini-apartment on the 15th floor of a skyscraper, without even a
tiny balcony on which to grow a little geranium.
It was my love of travelling and the culture of the Far East that took me to
China. I graduated in oriental languages and then did my Masters in tourism
marketing; in China, I organized tours for those who wanted to discover
Europe by visiting the main capitals and tourist attractions, which naturally
include my own city, Rome.
