Monti Sibillini, 1956. In una piccola cittadina
circondata da incontaminate bellezze naturali,
nasce ciò che a un osservatore distratto sareb-
be parsa una semplice, modesta officina. Una
bottega, si sarebbe detto ai tempi.
Sbirciando dalle finestre, al nostro osservatore non sarebbe però
sfuggito ciò che, nel corso di pochi decenni, avrebbe trasformato
un laboratorio disadorno nell’azienda che tutti conosciamo: l'entu-
siasmo e la caparbietà di Basilio e Giuseppina, i due giovani affac-
cendati che era possibile intravedere al di là del vetro, illuminati dalle
proprie creazioni.
Giorno dopo giorno, con pervicacia, i due portano avanti
un’innovativa idea imprenditoriale, trasformando il talento
in artigianato, e l’artigianato in commercio. Ma come una
luce non può esimersi dall’investire ciò che la circonda,
allo stesso modo i due non possono impedire che la loro
operosità investa con passione i figli e, successivamente,
la nipote Valeria, co-fondatrice di TOOY.
È così che, a partire dal 1985, i discendenti prendono in mano le redini
dell’attività della coppia, dotandosi progressivamente in macchinari
sempre più d’avanguardia e dando vita a una realtà produttiva ca-
pace di coinvolgere la contenuta ma attiva comunità che li circonda
in un ambizioso progetto: quello di rendere le loro creazioni di luce
celebri nel mondo.

The Sibillini Mountains, 1956.
In a rural town surrounded by unspoiled natural
beauty, a seemingly small, modest workshop
was formed. A bottega, as it may have been re-
ferred to at the time.
Upon peering through the windows, however, your casual observer
would not have failed to miss the enthusiasm and stubbornness of
Basilio and Giuseppina, the two busy young people who could be
glimpsed beyond the glass, illuminated by their own creations. Over
the course of a few decades they would transform an unadorned lab-
oratory into the company we all know today.
Day after day, with obstinacy, the two carried forward an
innovative business idea, transforming talent into crafts-
manship, and craftsmanship into commerce.
And just as light cannot be prevented from investing in
what surrounds it, the two entrepreneurs could not pre-
vent themselves from avidly investing in their children
and subsequently their granddaughter Valeria, co-found-
er of TOOY.
In 1985 Basilio and Giuseppina's children took over the reins of the
couple's business, progressively equipping themselves with increas-
ingly cutting-edge machinery and giving life to a production facility
that involves the community that surrounds them as they embarked
on their ambitious project: to make their lighting creations famous
throughout the world.
