METIZ.480 / design DAVID FOX
Il nome trae ispirazione dalla – in greco antico – metis, quale strategia di relazione
con gli altri e con la natura basata su “astuzia dell’intelligenza”. Metis è anche il
nome della quarta luna di Giove ed il più veloce dei suoi satelliti. Il designer David
Fox, giocando sulla fonetica della parola, ha utilizzato la “Z” finale al termine
dello sviluppo del nuovo concetto per TONON a significare la consegna del suo
lavoro concettuale a TONON. Metiz è una collezione completa composta da
sedia, lounge, divano, due pouff e da due tavolini concepiti per accogliere, nelle
rotondità delle loro forme organiche, in ogni destinazione residenziale o corporate.
L’elasticità progressiva e la morbidezza della seduta sono rese possibili dall’utilizzo
di poliuretani con multi densità costruiti in appoggio ad un sistema di cinghie
elastiche non visibili ma percepibili, garantendo una esperienza unica nella seduta.
Metiz è la seconda collezione sviluppata da David Fox per TONON, dopo il successo
della lounge “Poppy” che nel 2011 è stata premiata dal prestigioso Red Dot design
Award.
The name is inspired by metis that, in ancient Greek, means the relationship
strategy with others and with nature, based on the intelligence’s cunning.
Metis is also the name of the fourth moon of Jupiter and it’s the fastest among
its satellites. The designer David Fox, playing with the word phonetics, has
utilized the “Z” as ending letter, when finished the development of the new
concept for Tonon, meaning the delivery of its conceptual work to Tonon. Metiz
is a complete collection made by chair, lounge, sofa, two pouffs and two coffee
tables, designed to welcome, with their rounded organic shapes, in any location,
residential or corporate. The gradual elasticity and the seat softness are made
possible by the use of multi density polyurethanes together with a system of
elastic belts which are not visible but perceivable, granting a unique experience
in the seating. Metiz is the second collection David Fox designs for Tonon, after
the success of the lounge “Poppy”, awarded by Red Dot design Award in 2011.
