The Rug Company
FOREWORD

I’ve been lucky enough to work
with The Rug Company for 22 years
now. I met Chris and Suzanne in my
Notting Hill shop one Saturday and
when we started collaborating it
was an absolute delight. All of their
rugs were handknotted and the joy
was that you could include lots of
detail thanks to the brilliantly
skilled artisans who wove them –
it was real rug making, nothing was
automated, which was incredible
back then.
Everyone knows I use colour a lot.
I love the happiness and optimism
it brings, and the craftspeople in
Nepal had the awesome task of
interpreting my many colours into
dyed yarn, which was really exciting.
