GOODWEAVE AND POSITIVE LUXURY
Since 2007, we have been members of GoodWeave, a not-for-profit organisation that ensures no
forced or child labour is used by any of its manufacturers. To be certified by GoodWeave, suppliers sign
a legally binding contract guaranteeing that rugs have been produced without child labour, and that
workshops are continually assessed by GoodWeave inspectors.
As part of our membership, every handknotted design features a GoodWeave label, and a percentage
of the cost of a labelled rug goes to support grassroots social programmes in Nepal.
The Rug Company are working with Positive Luxury to obtain the Butterfly Mark, a leading ESG+
accreditation within the luxury industry. As a brand, we are committed to embedding a sustainable
approach across our entire business.
