The Rug Company
ADAM HUNTER
Wow - there are so many
highlights. Visiting Harrods and
seeing my rugs being sold there,
our incredible London release
of the Zebois rug, pitching the
Smoke rug to Chris Sharp who
commented he was concerned
that abstract wasn’t ‘in’ - with
due respect, he was wrong!
And my latest collection debut
in LA was a crazy incredible
musical celebration with over
150 people.
Monarch Smoke rug by
Alexander McQueen is me
as a rug. I have an emotional
connection to this design,
which I am so fortunate to
own. It was the rug that
inspired Zebois, my debut for
The Rug Company and I find
the modelling of the wings and
pattern so comforting, elevated
and high fashion.

Not everyone is aware of Dale’s
long history with textiles and
weaving dating back to his
days as an interior architecture
student at the University of
Washington. This project has
been especially meaningful to
us, and we are thrilled with the
results.
If I were a rug, it would be
Rosette. Colour, form, and
the power of light through
transparent materials are the
foundation of Dale’s creativity.
Rosette conveys both the
elegance of his iconic glass
forms and the impression
of transparency.
CHRISTOPHER KANE
My favourite element of my
Rug Company collaboration
was the design meetings, and
I particularly liked working
with the yarn colour swatches.
I found the process not too
dissimilar to how I design
collections - combining
something familiar yet new.
I have never visualised myself as
a rug before, but I think
it would have to be Grid
Construct as I like its sharp
unadorned pattern and striking
colours very much. It’s impactful
without trying too hard.
MARTYN LAWRENCE BULLARD
Being able to create these
beautiful rugs, things that really
ground a room, create such
decorative spirit and are so
exciting, for me that has always
been such a joy. The creativity
of The Rug Company and their
whole team has been just
amazing to work with and I am
so proud of our collection.
If I was a rug, I think I’d be
Diane von Furstenberg’s Climbing
Leopard. I love the sensual
sexiness of that design, and
that gorgeous green background
is everything.
