Solidity and lightness go together. Rigidity and sweetness meet. Paola is a chair that
speaks of tradition and modernity, it is a historic project by Vico Magistretti that Tacchini
is proud to include in its project dedicated to re-editions. A slight helical rotation outlines
the rear legs when they become the backrest supports, slightly inclined and curved; soft
and rounded lines soften the front legs at the point where they join the base of the seat,
geometric and rectangular. Proposed with an ash wood structure and padded seat, this
chair represents the dichotomy of many of the Lombard architect’s works: composed
and robust, but stackable and light to be easily moved.
Solidità e leggerezza si accordano. Rigidità e dolcezza si incontrano. Paola è una sedia
che parla di tradizione e modernità, è uno storico progetto di Vico Magistretti che
Tacchini è orgogliosa di poter inserire nel suo progetto dedicato alle riedizioni. Una lieve
rotazione elicoidale delinea le gambe posteriori nel momento in cui diventano i sostegni
dello schienale, leggermente inclinato e curvato; linee morbide e arrotondate addolci-
scono le gambe anteriori nel punto in cui si congiungono alla base della seduta, geome-
trica e rettangolare. Proposta con struttura in legno di frassino e sedile imbottito, questa
sedia rappresenta la dicotomia di molti lavori dell’architetto lombardo: composta e
robusta, ma impilabile e leggera per essere facilmente spostata.
