From the first piece of bent metal, Umberto Bellardi Ricci experiments with shapes and
reflections to capture and refract light as if it were coming from the curves of a spiral
while the light source remains embedded in the initial fold. Designed for Tacchini, the
Ancora rolled mirror captures light in the metal curves and diffuses it onto the reflec-
tive surface. Linked to the designer’s recent studies on the spiral of the golden ratio,
Ancora deviates from pure geometry to become a wall mirror that brings a modern
reinterpretation of sculptural light into domestic spaces.
Fin dal primo pezzo di metallo piegato, Umberto Bellardi Ricci sperimenta forme e
riflessi per catturare e rifrangere la luce come se provenisse dalle curve di una spirale
mentre la sorgente luminosa resta incastonata nella piega iniziale. Progettato per
Tacchini, lo specchio arrotolato Ancora cattura la luce nelle curve metalliche e la
diffonde sulla superficie riflettente. Legato ai recenti studi del designer sulla spirale del
rapporto aureo, Ancora si discosta dalla pura geometria per diventare uno specchio
da parete che porta negli spazi domestici una moderna rivisitazione della luce scultorea.
