The Eramosa stone comes from Canada. Surprisingly it looks like
a petrified wood. Its texture typically shows very narrow stripes
and veins of all brown color shades along the table top length.
It shows sometimes small creamy or reddish spots due to natural
iron inclusions. The veins extend from end to end of the table. In
its natural form may show “holes”, “pores” and “fissures” that are
filled and sealed with colored fillers and/or small pieces of the
same material before polishing.
Consequently the surface might not be perfectly smooth due to the
presence of residual micro-holes/pores that must not be
considered as material defects.

The “Wood” Stone
Calacatta comes from the Apuan Alps, in the North of Tuscany, in
Italy. It has a pure white background color and it shows oblique
veins of grey, gold and light brown color tone. It shows sometimes
shimmering metallic inclusions. The stripes /veins can extend from
end to end of the table or blend throughout giving the
appearance of ocean waves. In its natural form may have “holes”,
“pores” and “fissures” that are filled and sealed with transparent
resins, colored fillers and/or small pieces of the same material
before polishing. Consequently the surface might not be
perfectly smooth due to the presence of residual micro-holes and
pores that must not be considered as material defects.
