We have reached twenty years of business, a
landmark but also a starting point, where we have used
our art of making to create furniture and lights that make
the places where our stories take place more precious.
“Making” for us has two meanings: we are manufacturers,
so we understand right down to the last particle used
to create furniture; but we also create ideas, where our
“We Make” philosophy is modelled on an initial project
designed in-house or with the internationally renowned
designers who have worked with us over the past twenty
years. While still young, our history is that of a company
set up to create ideas and eureka moments that have
then become our core points.
In 2002, Giò Colonna Romano founded SLIDE, wanting to
create awe and wonder. The first eureka moment came
even before the creation of SLIDE: simple shapes, like
spheres and cubes, created with translucent materials,
whose inner light bulb emits a uniform light that adds
decoration. Simple yet magical. With thirty years of
knowledge of plastic materials, we pushed ourselves
further to unleash the full potential of rotational moulding,
and this led to our second eureka moment of luminous
furnishing, which soon became a must-have in the event
industry. All of this has led SLIDE to become well-known
all around the world.
