Designing for handblown glass requires
an understanding of the raw, fast and
unpredictable nature of the medium. You
don’t just design something, and then it’s
made. You must explore the question of if
your idea can be made at all. Glassblowing
affords little time to measure, assess,
and consider along the way. Torches
roar, furnaces blast, molten glass drips.
The process drives our ideas as much as our
ideas drive the process.
