Franco Albini & Franca Helg
Franco Albini (1905-1977) was an Italian architect and designer, famous for his ability
to merge modern minimalistic furniture design with traditional Italian craftmanship.
Through his work he obtained three Compasso D’Oro awards, the most prestigious
Italian design prize.
From 1951 Franco Albini becomes business partners with Franca Helg (1920-1989),
and from this point Franca plays a crucial role in numerous of Franco Albini’s designs.
Franco and Franca were active both in the field of furniture, architectural planning
and in industrial design. Together they designed many creations with the new forms of
modernism.
