Sicis prosegue il percorso nel campo dell’arredo e del lifestyle reinterpretando
l’antica arte musiva con una grande intuizione ed al tempo stesso una sfida,
trasporre il tema del mosaico in tessuti preziosi ed esclusivi.
Sono state scelte le collezioni iconiche della Maison, e alcuni decori artistici
che sottolineano l’artisticità e la raffinatezza di questa arte e sono stati
traslati entro trame di filati preziosi.
Far leggere i pattern attraverso le tessere senza appiattirne l’effetto plastico,
mettere in evidenza i rilievi e far emergere, grazie alla differenza di battute
del telaio, la ricchezza del ‘mosaico in tessuto’, è stata la vera sfida.
Essere riusciti a trasferire l’arte musiva in tessile è un’emozione, la sorpresa
degli oggetti pregiati, unici nel loro genere, un linguaggio universale con cui
scrivere sempre nuovi affascinanti progetti.
Prefazione
Sicis continues the exploration in the field of furniture and lifestyle by
reinterpreting with great intuition the ancient mosaic art; undergoing at
the same time the challenge to introduce the theme of mosaic to precious
and exclusive textiles.
Iconic collections of the Maison and some artistic decorations, that
emphasize the craftsmanship and refinement of this art, have been chosen
and translated into precious textures.
The difficult task has been to make visible the patterns through the
tesserae, without flattening them and highlight the richness of the ‘mosaic
in textile’ thanks to the difference of loom battening speed.
It is a great emotion being able to transfer mosaic art into textiles, a
surprise to discover precious objects, unique in their category, using a
universal language for expressing new fascinating projects.
