Un passato di secoli, centinaia di anni in-
cisi in un legno nobile che ha conosciuto
vento, sole e la vita dell’uomo. Ma il le-
gno vecchio è una materia che ha il fu-
turo nello spirito. E nella trasformazio-
ne sta la sua immortalità. Caratteristica
propria del legno vecchio sono i tarli, i
chiaroscuri, le crepature, eventuali bu-
chi. I buchi più grossi sono tappati con
materiale dello stesso tipo ma che può
risultare anche più chiaro. Non tutto il
legno vecchio è tarlato.
Centuries of history, hundreds of years
that leave their mark on magnificent
wood tempered by the wind, sun and
the action of man. Nevertheless, old
wood is a material whose future lies in
its spirit. Its immortality lies in its ability
to be transformed.
The intrinsic features of old wood are
woodworm marks, uneven hues, cracks
and sometimes holes. The largest holes
are filled with similar material that may
have a lighter colour. Not all old wood is
worm-eaten.

L’anta e il cassetto in legno vec-
chio sono costruiti impiegando
pannelli a tre strati con il solo
strato esterno in legno vecchio.
Gli altri due strati sono in le-
gno di Abete “nuovo”. L’interno
dell’anta e del frontale casset-
to sono quindi in legno di Abe-
te “nuovo” verniciato con una
finitura che si avvicina al pun-
to tinta del legno vecchio. Nello
spessore è visibile la lavorazione
a 3 strati.
Non tutti gli articoli sono pos-
sibili in legno vecchio. In queste
pagine del catalogo, letto Plana
e comò Quadra sono realizzati in
legno di Abete evaporato. Sono
disponibili anche i relativi como-
dini. L’evaporazione del legno è
una lavorazione in appositi forni
dove la permanenza a contatto
con il vapore acqueo a oltre 90
gradi permette una omogeneiz-
zazione di colore verso lo scuro.
Creiamo così dei felici abbina-
menti tra il letto, la cassettiera
e l’armadio in legno vecchio.
Old wood doors and drawers
are
constructed
from
pa-
nels made of three layers of
which only the outer one is in
old wood. The other two are
in “new” Spruce wood. Con-
sequently, the reverse side of
doors and drawer fronts are in
“new” Spruce wood varnished
with a finish that is similar to
the colour of old wood. The ed-
ges reveal the 3 layers of which
the panel is composed.
Not all our furniture can be
made of old wood. In this ca-
talogue the Plana bed and the
Quadra chest-of-drawers are
made of steamed spruce wood.
Complementary bedside tables
are also available. Wood is ste-
amed in special kilns where
contact with water vapour at a
temperature of over 90° evens
out its colour that becomes
darker than the original. This is
how we create attractive com-
binations consisting of an old
wood wardrobe paired with a
bed and a drawer unit in a dif-
ferent finish.
