(En) “Sardinia, a place deeply dear to me, is a land where many traditions
now struggle to survive, yet it holds an ancient story that feels surpris-
ingly current. It is to this story – which belongs to me and moves me –
that I dedicate this project,” says Maddalena Casadei speaking of her
Marisco rug, which reinterprets the ancient Sardinian tradition of cane
coverings. The base weave is enriched with a coloured polypropylene
thread that moves with its own rhythm, creating a harmonious dialogue
between tradition and innovation. The handloom weaving lends it the
thickness and elegance of an indoor rug, while the properties of the syn-
thetic yarn make it suitable for outdoor use, ensuring optimal resistance
to weathering.(It) “La Sardegna, terra a me profondamente cara, è un
luogo dove molte tradizioni faticano oggi a mantenere la loro continuità,
ma che custodisce una storia antica e sorprendentemente attuale.
A questa storia, che mi appartiene e mi emoziona, dedico questo
lavoro”, dice Maddalena Casadei del suo tappeto Marisco, che reinter-
preta l’antica tradizione sarda delle coperture in canna. La trama di
base si arricchisce della presenza di un filo colorato in polipropilene
che si muove con un ritmo autonomo, creando un dialogo armonioso tra
tradizione e innovazione. La lavorazione su telaio manuale regala lo
spessore e l’eleganza di un tappeto per interni, mentre le caratteristi-
che del filato sintetico si adattano all’utilizzo outdoor, garantendo una
resistenza ottimale agli agenti atmosferici.
