WOODEN INLAY
Our new sideboard is in Mogano Honduras with wooden inlay in: tulipier maple (yellow pekia) and Pao marfin.
Decorative inlay has very antique roots: it consists in fitting together varied shapes, sizes, and species of wood, creating a mosaic-like picture
with an illusion of depth. General thickness of these piece is around 6-10 tenths of millimeter.
Once this layes of wood are fitted together, it is applied on the structure of the piece of furniture.
The inlays can also involve other coloured materials, such as brass, mother of pearl, precious stones.
