Roccia metamorfica di origine calcarea, composta principalmente da carbonato di calcio (CaCo3).
Finiture
La finitura naturale opaca e lucida è ottenute da abrasivi diamantati utilizzati ad umido/
acqua. Per ottenere l’effetto opaco sono necessari 6 passaggi di abrasivo, per il lucido 8 pas-
saggi.
Alcuni dei materiali proposti (sahara noir, verde rameggiato, valentine grey) di natura più delica-
ta, dopo essere estratti dalla cava subiscono alcune lavorazioni particolari per renderli omogenei,
compatti, solidi.
Prima fase:
. messa in sottovuoto
. colatura di resina trasparente nelle fessure
. pressatura e incamiciatura con pannelli di legno multistrati
Seconda fase (per tutti i blocchi di tutti i marmi proposti):
. segagione in lastre con lame diamantate
. resinatura e retinatura con rete in fibra di vetro sul lato della lastra non visibile
. lucidatura/levigatura (opaco) sul lato della lastra visibile
Terza fase:
. le lastre vengono portate al laboratorio che procede nella lavorazione con macchine a controllo
numerico
. per ultimo c’è sempre la mano dell’artigiano per le piccole rifiniture e la stesura di prodotto
antimacchia idroleorepellente
La finitura poliestere opaca e lucida consiste nella verniciatura del marmo seguendo i seguenti
passaggi:
. stesura del primer
. fondo con poliestere a spruzzo trasparente
. carteggiatura e spazzolatura polish con resina poliestere trasparente per la versione lucida,
oppure carteggiatura e finitura con resina acriliza trasparente per la versione opaca
La finitura poliestere ha le seguenti caratteristiche:
. il piano di marmo risulterà di una lucentezza superiore rispetto a quelli non trattati esaltando la
bellezza delle venature
. lo ”spessore” del poliestere e la precedente accurata levigatura riescono a minimizzare i piccoli
difetti naturali della superficie quali forellini o segni più o meno profondi
. la superficie per questo motivo risulta “calda” e morbida al tatto
. la superficie è inoltre ripristinabile da un professionista, poiché lo spessore della vernice permette
la carteggiatura e la successiva rilucidatura
. il piano di marmo trattato al poliestere subisce una normale usura nel tempo come tutte le
superfici verniciate, e tende ad ingiallire dopo anni di utilizzo

Definition
It is a metamorphic rock of calcareous origin, mainly composed by calcium carbonate (CaCo3).
Finishes
The natural matt and glossy finish is obtained through diamond abrasives based on wet/wa-
ter process. To obtain the matt effect 6 abrasive processes are needed, while 8 for the glossy
version.
Some of the proposed marbles (sahara noir, verde rameggiato, valentine grey) are naturally brittle
therefore once extracted from the marble quarry, they undergo some specific working steps to
make them homogeneous, hard and solid.
First step:
. vacuum process
. casting of transparent resin in fissures
. coating and pressing through wooden multiply panels
Second step (valid for all the available marbles):
. sawing into slabs using diamond blades
. the surface not at sight is soaked with resin and reinforced through a glass fibre net
. the surface at sight is polished and smooth
Third step:
. The slabs are then worked in the laboratory through cnc machinery
. The process is closed with the artisanal handmade refinishing and coating with proper
stain resistant and water repellent product
The polyester matt or glossy finish consists of painting the marble according to the steps
below.
. application of the primer
. basis with transparent spray polyester
. sanding and polish brushing with transparent polyester resin for the glossy version, sanding and
finishing with transparent acrylic resin for the matt version
The polyester finish has the following features:
. the surface of the marble top will result more shining rather than the one without polyester
treatment, highlighting the natural beauty of the veins
. the polyester “thickness”, together with prior honing phase, allow to minimize small natural
surface defects, such as micro-holes and deep or light marks
. for this reason, the surface is “warm” and soft to the touch
. the polyester treatment grants a restoration of the surface by a professionist, as the thickness
of the polyester allows the sandpapering first and the consequently polishing
. the marble top treated with polyester undergoes normal wear over time like all painted surfaces,
and tends to turn yellow after years of use
