Simple geometric elements. Natural materials like wood and leather. Fine handcrafted decorations. A versatile and discreet coffee table.
Neslihan Isik, emerging architect and designer of Turkish origins, employs a few simple elements to construct a coffee table of great minimalist elegance. Ela. A blend of fine materials, artisanal craftsmanship and precision detailing. A discreet and functional piece of furniture designed for the living room as either a coffee or tea table. The large square surface, with rounded corners, is made from wengé ash or turtledove oak. The supports and perimeter edge are covered with Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System with light padding in polyurethane foam. There is vertical hand stitching along every support, creating an understated decorative design that underlines the linearity of the design and emphasises Poltrona Frau’s leather processing expertise. The Ela structure is produced from solid wood and birch plywood.
The following is needed to produce an Ela coffee table:
1 m2 Pelle Frau® leather
20 m yarn
4 m of stitching
7 kg solid beech
12 kg birch plywood
5 hours of labour
