desires and shape our reality. The theme of
the new Poltrona Frau collection is a profound
inner contemplation on the vital role of
creative freedom; an approach that enables us
to appraise the past, to interpret the present,
and to launch ourselves into the future.
How much space do we actually dedicate to
the Imagination in our daily lives? Poltrona
Frau invites us to contemplate this in its new
Imagine collection, which will be presented
in Milan on the occasion of the Salone del
Mobile 2024.
In art, in literature and in music (John Lennon’s
profound lyrics immediately spring to mind), the
Imagination has always played a vital and familiar
role which, nevertheless, risks remaining constrained
within the, albeit vast, confines of individual artistic
expression. The Imagine Collection challenges this
concept by enticing the Imagination to enter into,
and to become part of, our daily lives. If you can
imagine it, you can also achieve it… thus it becomes a
tool for transforming our reality, based on our needs
and desires.
The word ’Imagination’ translates from the Greek
word ’eikasia’, meaning the ability to think outside of
logical processes. This manner of thinking laterally
has been part of Poltrona Frau’s DNA since it was
founded by Renzo Frau, renowned for his superior
technical intellect and commercial intuition. And
it has continued to evolve in ever-changing ways
throughout the brand’s history, in its catalogue and
in the various lines of the collection which, this year,
calls upon many new designers to collaborate on the
various creative projects.
