The backrest frame of the Archibald
Stools is made from moulded rigid
polyurethane. The internal padding
is in soft moulded polyurethane and
polyester wadding. The seat frame
is made from birch plywood with
padding in polyurethane foam and
polyester wadding. It is supported
by an apron which connects it to the
base. The seat is upholstered entirely
in Pelle Frau® leather or fabric.
The Archibald Stools can come with
a wooden 4-legged base, available in
two heights, or the classic metal stem.
In the former, the feet are in solid ash
and come with a Moka or Wenge stain,
and there is a rectangular-section
stainless steel footrest which has a
unidirectional brushed finish on the
top side and a mirror-polished finish
on the other three sides. In the version
with metal base the steel stem swivels
and its height can be adjusted using
a cushioned gas spring controlled
by a stainless steel lever positioned
underneath the seat to the right.
