Le ciotole Cretto richiamano gli eff etti
tridimensionali e materici dei lavori di
Alberto Burri, a cui alludono nel nome.
Realizzate in un piccolo laboratorio
artigianale nel cuore dell’Umbria,
indagano le valenze espressive dello
stoneware, particolare materiale
ceramico. Nella lavorazione manuale
al tornio viene data forma al corpo in
ceramica, racchiuso poi nell’ingobbio,
un rivestimento argilloso che dà
all’oggetto un’estetica suggestiva e
naturale. La colorazione, eff ettuata a più
riprese, ha le sfumature dell’ocra, del
rosso mattone e del marrone su fondo
grigio. Tre le dimensioni, in due forme
grafi che ed essenziali: una mezza sfera
e un quarto di sfera.Il marchio Poltrona
Frau è realizzato a mano con un tampone
a inchiostro.
The Cretto bowls evoke the three-
dimensional and textural eff ects of the
works of Alberto Burri, the inspiration
for the collection’s name. Crafted in a
small workshop in the heart of Umbria,
the pieces explore the expressive worth
of stoneware, a unique type of ceramic.
A manual lathe technique is used to
craft the ceramic body, which is then
coated in clay to give the object its
evocative and natural aesthetics.
The colour, achieved through multiple
applications, features shades of ocra,
brick red and brown against a grey
background. The bowls are available
in three diff erent sizes and two simple
yet graphic shapes: half-moon and
quarter-moon. The Poltrona Frau logo is
ink-stamped onto the design by hand.
Les bols Cretto rappellent les eff ets
tridimensionnels et matériques des
travaux d’Alberto Burri, auxquelles
leur nom fait allusion. Fabriqués dans
un petit laboratoire artisanal au cœur
de l’Ombrie, ils explorent les valeurs
expressives de la poterie en grès, une
céramique particulière. Dans le travail
manuel au tour, le corps en céramique
est mis en forme, puis enfermé dans
l’engobe, un revêtement argileux qui
donne à l’objet une belle esthétique
naturelle. La coloration, qui est réalisée
en plusieurs reprises, a les nuances de
l’ocre, du rouge brique et du marron, sur
fond gris. Trois dimensions, sous deux
formes graphiques et essentielles: une
demi-sphère et un quart de sphère.
La marque Poltrona Frau est réalisée à la
main avec un tampon encreur.
Die Schalen Cretto verweisen auf die
dreidimensionalen und materiellen
Eff ekte der Arbeiten von Alberto Burri,
auf dessen Namen sie anspielen. Sie
werden in einem kleinen Handwerkslabor
im Herzen der Region Umbrien
gefertigt und stellen eine Recherche
zur Ausdrucksstärke des speziellen
Keramikmaterials Stoneware dar.
Bei der handwerklichen Bearbeitung auf
der Drehbank wird dem Keramikkorpus
seine Form verliehen, der dann
von der Engobe umhüllt wird, einer
Lehmverkleidung, die dem Objekt ein
zauberhaftes und natürliches Aussehen
verleiht. Die Färbung, die in mehreren
Phasen erfolgt, zeigt sich in den
Schattierungen Ocker, Ziegelrot und
Braun auf grauem Untergrund. In 3
Größen und in 2 grafi schen, essentiellen
Formen: Halbkugel und Viertelkugel.
Die Marke Poltrona Frau wird von Hand
mit einem Farbstempel angebracht.
