Poltrona Frau
In this scenario Poltrona Frau Custom Interiors business
unit was involved in the design and engineering project
of a revolutionary seating. The project is based on
the well-tested Gala system – a particularly complex
mechanism that allows entire seating rows to fold
and disappear under the hall’s floor, therefore giving
maximum flexibility to the environments in terms of
seating capacity and floor space.
For this renovation project Poltrona Frau developed
the 400 custom-made seats following the design of
RPBW; the long and thin metal legs evoke the sense
of lightness and transparency of the spaces.
In addition, the GALA System obliges to create
seats with a reduced weight, specific safety
requirements for the users, and dimensions for the
motion systems which allow the seat to safely go up
and down, rotate and fold.
