a
high-performance boat. In 2019, Cigarette
Racing, the famous American company
and leader in the luxury off shore sector,
created an unconventional boat in collab-
oration with architect and yacht designer
Giorgio Cassetta: great speed, technical
performance
and
lightness,
combined
with elegance, comfort and the attention
to detail typical of pleasure yachts. The
design of the hull and of the technical and
engine parts was a product of the close col-
laboration between the Cigarette Racing
Team, the Mercedes AMG Design Team
and Gorden Wagener, Daimler AG Chief
design offi cer.
After more than a year of study together
with the Cassetta studio, Poltrona Frau
Custom Interiors custom developed all the
seating systems, upholstered in specially
created Pelle Frau® leather and customised
fabrics that make each boat a unique piece.
The cockpit area is equipped with seven
seats, for the captain, co-captain and back-
seat passengers. The seats are designed to
adjust ergonomically and always allow an
upright and supported position. The boat can
accommodate up to 26 people, including the
upper deck and the aft area. An electrical
system allows the seats at the bow and stern
to be transformed into a large sundeck, while
the system of tables at the front can be raised
to create a dining area. The seats are made of
materials suitable for even the most severe
outdoor use conditions, with metal compo-
nents in AISI stainless steel, technical
upholstery fabrics, polyurethane foams and
plastics, all specially developed to withstand
the challenging saline climate.
The cabin furnishings are also uphol-
stered in Pelle Frau® leather, for a total
of about one hundred seating elements
designed specifically for the boat. Interior
equipment includes furniture with a pop-up
TV, a California king bed and a leather sofa
that converts into an extra bed. Large ceiling
windows allow natural light to flood the
environment, creating a welcoming space.
The special Pelle Frau® leather gives the
interiors of each boat an inimitable aesthetic
and tactile qualities that are truly unusual for
this type of sportsboat.
