Da 1919 a 2019: dopo un secolo esatto
nuovo nome, nuove dimensioni, nuove
proporzioni. Per lo storico modello
in pelle capitonné di Poltrona Frau
è cambiato tutto ma non è cambiato
niente: Poltrona Frau, in collaborazione
con Roberto Lazzeroni ha saputo
reinterpretarlo mantenendone intatto lo
spirito originario.
1919 è nata come pezzo classico,
destinato a durare a lungo nel tempo.
Ampia, solida, imbottita a mano,
completamente rivestita in pelle con una
complessa lavorazione artigianale che
raggiunge il suo culmine nelle volute
plissettate dei braccioli e nel celebre
motivo capitonné dello schienale.
La poltrona 2019 ha la struttura
portante realizzata in massello di faggio
stagionato. Il molleggio di seduta,
schienale e braccioli è ottenuto con
molle biconiche in acciaio legate a mano
e fissate su cinghie di juta. L’imbottitura
della seduta è in crine gommato, mentre
quella di schienale e braccioli è in
crine vegetale modellato a mano. Il
cuscino della seduta è in piuma d’oca
con inserto stabilizzante in poliuretano
espanso.
From 1919 to 2019: exactly one hundred
years on, a new name, new dimensions
and new proportions. Everything about
the historic Poltrona Frau capitonné
leather model has changed and yet
everything remains the same: in
collaboration with Roberto Lazzeroni,
Poltrona Frau has successfully
reinterpreted this timeless classic while
maintaining its original spirit.
The 1919 was a classic from the
get-go, destined to leave an indelible
mark. Large, strong, padded by hand,
completely upholstered in leather with
complex craftsmanship that reaches
its apex in the pleated swirls of the
armrests and the famous capitonné motif
of the backrest.
The supporting structure of the 2019
armchair is made from solid seasoned
beech. The seat, backrest and armrest
spring system consists of hand-tied
steel biconical springs attached to
jute belts. The seat is padded with
rubberised horsehair while the backrest
and armrests are in hand-shaped
vegetable horsehair. The seat cushion is
in goose down with a stabilising insert in
polyurethane foam.
De 1919 à 2019: après un siècle
exactement, un nouveau nom, de
nouvelles dimensions, de nouvelles
proportions. Pour le modèle historique
en cuir capitonné de Poltrona Frau, tout
a changé mais rien n’a changé: Poltrona
Frau, en collaboration avec Roberto
Lazzeroni, a su le réinterpréter tout en
conservant intact son esprit originel.
1919 est né comme une pièce classique
destinée à durer dans le temps. Large,
solide, rembourré à la main, entièrement
revêtu de cuir avec une finition
artisanale complexe qui culmine dans
les volutes plissées des accoudoirs et le
célèbre motif capitonné du dossier.
La structure portante du fauteuil 2019
est en hêtre massif sec. La suspension
de l’assise, du dossier et des accoudoirs
est fabriquée avec des ressorts
biconiques en acier liés entre eux à la
main et fixés sur des sangles en jute.
Le rembourrage de l’assise est en crin
caoutchouté, tandis que celui du dossier
et des accoudoirs est en crin végétal
modelé à la main. Le coussin d’assise
est en plumes d’oie avec un insert
stabilisant en mousse de polyuréthane.

nichts verändert: In Zusammenarbeit
mit Roberto Lazzeroni hat Poltrona
Frau es verstanden, den Sessel neu
zu interpretieren und gleichzeitig sein
ursprüngliches Wesen beizubehalten.
1919 entstand als Klassiker, der für
ein langes Leben bestimmt war. Breit,
solide, von Hand gepolstert, vollkommen
mit Leder bezogen, mit einer komplexen
handwerklichen Verarbeitung, die ihren
Höhepunkt in den plissierten Voluten der
Armlehnen und im berühmten Capitonné-
Motiv der Rückenlehne erreicht.
Der Sessel 2019 weist eine
Tragestruktur aus abgelagertem
Buchenholz auf. Die Federung von
Sitzfläche, Rückenlehne und Armlehnen
wird durch doppelkonische Stahlfedern
erzielt, die von Hand gebunden und
auf Juteriemen befestigt werden.
Die Polsterung der Sitzfläche ist
aus gummiertem Rosshaar, die von
Rückenlehne und Armlehnen aus
handgeformten pflanzlichen Fasern.
Das Kissen der Sitzfläche ist aus
Gänsedaunen mit Stabilisierungseinlage
aus Polyurethanschaum.
