La serie di tavoli Othello nasce
dall’incontro fra materiali puri e naturali.
Il fascino del legno lavorato con maestria
e accostato alla pietra o al vetro, rende
superfl uo ogni decorativismo. Roberto
Lazzeroni riprende il rigore costruttivo
del design italiano fra gli anni ’50
e ’60. I sostegni in massello di frassino
tinto moka o wengé hanno l’impatto
di una scultura geometrica.
Per contrasto i top sono morbidi
e curvilinei, sia nella versione tonda
che rettangolare. Tratto distintivo della
struttura lignea la sezione triangolare
e a spigolo vivo, che trova un prezioso
richiamo nella lavorazione diamantata
lungo il perimetro dei piani.
Poltrona Frau sceglie per i top due
varianti materiche. Il cristallo fumé,
semitrasparente e leggero, esalta
la solidità architetturale dei sostegni.
Il marmo Fior di Pesco, varietà
di particolare pregio, cattura lo sguardo
con le sue delicate e ricche venature
che alla luce naturale svelano zone
traslucide e quasi trasparenti.
In alternativa, altrettanto prezioso,
il marmo Calacatta Oro.
The Othello series of tables was born
from an encounter between pure and
natural materials. The charm of the
expertly processed wood, combined
with stone or glass, makes all decorative
work superfl uous. Roberto Lazzeroni
revisits the constructive rigour of 1950s
and 1960s Italian design. The solid
ash supports, with a moka or wenge
stain, have the impact of a geometric
sculpture. By contrast, the tops are
soft and curved in both the round and
rectangular versions. The clean-edged
triangular section is a distinctive
feature of the wooden structure
and is beautifully echoed in the diamond
workmanship along the edges
of the tops.
Poltrona Frau chooses two material
variants for the tops. The light, semi-
transparent smoked crystal emphasises
the architectural solidity of the
supports. The fi ne Fior di Pesco marble
catches the eye with its delicate
and rich veins that in the daylight reveal
areas that are translucent and almost
transparent. Calacatta Oro marble
is an equally fi ne alternative.
La série de tables Othello est née de
la rencontre entre des matériaux purs
et naturels. Le charme du bois travaillé
avec grande maîtrise, associé à la
pierre ou au verre, rend superfl u toute
surabondance d’éléments décoratifs.
Roberto Lazzeroni reprend la rigueur
constructive du design italien entre les
années 1950 et 1960. Les supports en
frêne massif teinté moka ou wengé ont
l’impact d’une sculpture géométrique.
Par contraste, les plateaux sont doux et
curvilignes, aussi bien dans la version
ronde que rectangulaire. Un signe
distinctif de la structure en bois est sa
section triangulaire, à arêtes vives, qui
crée une riche correspondance avec le
bord facetté du périmètre des plateaux.
Pour les plateaux, Poltrona Frau
choisit deux variantes de matériaux.
Le cristal fumé, semi-transparent et
léger, souligne la solidité architecturale
des supports. Le marbre Fleur de
pêcher, une variété particulièrement
précieuse, capte le regard avec ses
veinures délicates et riches qui, à la
lumière naturelle, révèlent des zones
translucides et presque transparentes.
Alternativement, tout aussi précieux,
le marbre Calacatta Or.
Die Tischserie Othello ist das Ergebnis
der Kombination von reinen und
natürlichen Materialien. Der Charme
des meisterhaft gearbeiteten Holzes,
kombiniert mit Stein oder Glas, macht
jede dekorative Arbeit überfl üssig.
Roberto Lazzeroni nimmt die
konstruktive Strenge des italienischen
Designs zwischen den 1950er und
1960er Jahren wieder auf. Die Stützen
aus mokka- oder wengéfarben gebeizter,
massiver Esche wirken wie eine
geometrische Skulptur. Als Kontrast
dazu sind die Oberfl ächen weich
und gebogen, sowohl in der runden als
auch in der rechteckigen Ausführung.
Eine Besonderheit der Holzstruktur ist
der dreieckige Querschnitt mit scharfer
Kante, der in der Diamantbearbeitung
entlang des Umfangs der Platten eine
edle Entsprechung fi ndet.
Poltrona Frau wählt zwei
Materialvarianten für die Oberfl ächen.
Das halbtransparente und leichte
Kristallglas bringt die architektonische
Solidität der Stützen zur Geltung.
Der Marmor Fior di Pesco, eine
Marmorsorte von besonderem Wert,
besticht durch seine zarten und reichen
Maserungen, die im natürlichen Licht
durchscheinende und fast transparente
Bereiche enthüllen.
Als Alternative, ebenso wertvoll,
der Marmor Calacatta Oro.
