La poltrona New Deal venne realizzata
nel 1929 da Savina Pisani sulla base
delle notazioni del marito, Renzo Frau.
Osservando il caratteristico disegno
dei braccioli e le bordature posteriori
a chiodini, è facile vedere che in realtà
New Deal è una prima versione della
celeberrima Vanity Fair, caratterizzata
dalle dimensioni più contenute e dallo
schienale circolare. Forme lisce e tese,
design accogliente e aerodinamico
tipico dell’Art Déco, la poltrona New
Deal è un grande classico del catalogo
Poltrona Frau. La struttura portante
della poltrona New Deal è in faggio
stagionato. Il molleggio è ottenuto
con molle biconiche d’acciaio fi ssate a
cinghie di juta. L’imbottitura della seduta
è in crine gommato, quella di schienale
e braccioli è in crine vegetale modellato
a mano. Il cuscino della seduta è
realizzato in piuma d’oca. I piedi sono
in faggio tinto noce scuro. Il rivestimento
è in Pelle Frau®. Una fi la di chiodini
rivestiti in pelle e applicati a mano
rifi nisce il retro e i fi anchi della poltrona.
Le fauteuil New Deal a été réalisé en
1929 par Savina Pisani sur la base des
notations de son mari, Renzo Frau.
En regardant le design caractéristique
des accoudoirs et les bordures
de dossier à petits clous, on voit
aisément que New Deal est en fait la
première version du célèbre Vanity Fair,
caractérisé par des dimensions plus
petites et un dossier circulaire.
Avec ses formes lisses et tendues, un
design accueillant et aérodynamique
typique de l’Art Déco, le fauteuil New
Deal est un grand classique du catalogue
Poltrona Frau.
La structure portante du fauteuil New
Deal est en hêtre sec. La suspension est
réalisée avec des ressorts biconiques
en acier fi xés sur des sangles en jute.
Le rembourrage de l’assise est en crin
caoutchouté, celui du dossier et des
accoudoirs est en crin végétal modelé
à la main. Le coussin d’assise est réalisé
en plumes d’oie. Les pieds sont en hêtre
teinté noyer foncé. Le revêtement est en
cuir Pelle Frau®. Une rangée de petits
clous recouverts de cuir et appliqués à la
main fi nit le dos et les côtés du fauteuil.
The New Deal armchair was produced
in 1929 by Savina Pisani according to
the notes of her husband, Renzo Frau.
Observing the characteristic design of
the armrests and the trim on the back
consisting of little pins, it is easy to
see that in reality the New Deal is an
early version of the famous Vanity Fair
with smaller dimensions and a circular
backrest. Smooth, taut forms with a
welcoming and aerodynamic design,
typical of art deco, the New Deal
armchair is one of the great classics
of the Poltrona Frau catalogue.
The supporting structure of the New
Deal armchair is made from seasoned
beechwood. The spring system consists
of biconical steel springs attached
to jute belts. The seat is padded with
rubberised horsehair while the backrest
and armrests are in hand-shaped
vegetable horsehair. The seat cushion is
made of goose down. The feet are made
from beech with a dark walnut stain.
The upholstery is in Pelle Frau® leather.
A row of hand-applied leather-covered
pins refi nes the back and sides
of the armchair.
Der Sessel New Deal wurde im Jahre
1929 von Savina Pisani ausgehend
von den Aufzeichnungen ihres Mannes
Renzo Frau entworfen. Betrachtet
man das charakteristische Design
der Armlehnen und der rückseitigen
Nieteneinfassungen, ist leicht zu
erkennen, dass New Deal in Wirklichkeit
eine erste Version des berühmten Vanity
Fair ist, die jedoch kleiner ist und eine
runde Rückenlehne aufweist.
Glatte, straff e Formen, ein einladendes
und aerodynamisches Design, das
typisch für den Art Déco-Stil ist: der
Sessel New Deal ist ein großer
Klassiker des Poltrona Frau Katalogs.
Die Tragestruktur des Sessels New Deal
ist aus abgelagertem Buchenholz.
Die Federung erfolgt durch
doppelkonische Stahlfedern, die
an Jutegurten befestigt sind.
Die Polsterung der Sitzfl äche ist
aus gummiertem Rosshaare, die
von Rückenlehne und Armlehnen
aus handgeformten pfl anzlichem
Rosshaar. Das Sitzkissen ist mit
Gänsedaunen gefüllt. Die Füße sind
aus nussbaumfarbener Buche (dunkel).
Bezug aus Pelle Frau®-Leder. Eine Reihe
lederbezogener, von Hand angebrachter
Nieten vollendet die Rückseite und die
Seitenteile des Sessels.
