Poltrona Frau’s outdoor collections are
designed with efficiency, durability and waste
reduction at the forefront. These choices have
led to extreme simplification of the components
and their easy disassembly, both for ease of use
and environmental sustainability.
The materials used are certified and approved for outdoor use.
At the heart of this is an uncompromising choice of quality,
even in the hidden parts. The structures are made of powder-
coated stainless steel or solid teak in a natural finish.
The wood is FSC certified, which indicates products containing
wood from forests managed correctly and responsibly,
according to strict environmental, social and economic
standards. And last but not least, the upholstery is made of
absorbent materials, the threads are woven from polypropylene
fibres and the fabrics are made of acrylic or polypropylene
yarns. They are soft to the touch, with a warm, textured “feel”,
some developed in partnership with Loro Piana Interiors,
reminiscent of indoor upholstery.
The choice of colours and textures in the upholstery fabrics is
designed to match the materials and colours of the furniture
and to create echoes and contrasts with other accessories
such as metal tables, decorative cushions, rugs and baskets.
Four colour families have been developed: from colours inspired
by sand and stone (Shoreline) to tones reminiscent of nautical
style (Ocean Waves), from the hues of sunsets (Above Sunset)
to the colours of Italian gardens (Scent of Green).
