Poltrona Frau
Bay Lounge is a unique, modular system that allows
infinite configurations thanks to the different shapes
of its structure: concave, convex, and straight. Each
piece can be linked to the other to create the desired
shape. For Brussels airport the seats have been
upholstered with Pelle Frau® SC leather in 3 different
shades, SC 23 Tortora, SC 180 Celadon, and SC 120
Calypso. For this project, the seating system has
been integrated with flower pots, to create a green,
natural atmosphere. Bay System comprises also of a
Bay Gate model, designed for short-time and high-
density waiting areas, such as boarding gates. Bay
Gate comes only with a linear structure to optimize
the seating space.
his project confirms the already strong cooperation
between Poltrona Frau Custom Interiors and Foster &
Partners, in researching innovative solutions for public
spaces following emerging travelling trends, and
consumers' taste.
