developed over the last ten years, including
the Sibylla and Teorema concept cars,
designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and Pinin-
farina respectively in 2018 and 2021. Or the
Speedtail from McLaren, the brand’s first
hybrid sports car (2019), and the electric
Piëch Mark Zero (2019).
The nautical sector is also growing,
thanks to collaborations with renowned
international yacht design studios like Giorgio
Cassetta, Winch Design and Zuccon Interna-
tional Projects. With the latter two, Poltrona
Frau Custom Interiors has recently launched
a collection of furnishings that offers many
possibilities for customisation. The designs
start from the specific material and dimen-
sional needs of nautical use, but in terms of
aesthetic language and comfort are suitable
for both contract and residential use as well.
The Ferretti Group has a long history
of collaboration with Poltrona Frau, which
has created the custom furnishings for
several yachts of the Pershing, Ferretti and
Wally brands, achieving milestone records
in technology and beauty; for example, the
Pershing 108, which features the largest
leather surface in the nautical sector. High
performance solutions that are able to with-
stand the difficult marine climate without
sacrificing home-like comfort, impeccable
craftsmanship and a sophisticated image,
while respecting the aesthetic identity of the
different brands.
Last but by no means least, the collabo-
ration between Poltrona Frau and the Carnival
Corporation & plc Group continues. After the
first experience outfitting the Costa Smer-
alda ship, the recent Costa Toscana project
represents the first example of a structured
collaboration between the shipping company
and the Custom Interiors business unit, which
furnished the ship’s two theatres and many of
the common areas, creating an image of ele-
gance and balance more akin to the spaces
of luxury hôtellerie or private yachts, rarely
found in the cruise ship segment.
