Poltrona Frau was the first Italian
company to use leather as a design material,
not just for the upholstery. The strict selec-
tion of leathers and extensive experience
in their processing are at the heart of all its

company to register the name Pelle Frau®,
and to coin a neologism that represents
expertise and continuous research on the
material, Leathership®, a registered trade-
mark that emphasises the primary role of the
company in the industry.
Pelle Frau® leather is a product line
that includes 10 collections of leathers, for
an overall number of 153 colours and approx-
imately 365,000 square meters of leather
processed in 2021 for the residential sector
alone. Pelle Frau® encompasses the values
of Poltrona Frau: research into the material
and lower impact on the environment,
durability and continuous experimentation
with manufacturing solutions for both
padded furnishings and seat shells. These
rigid structures, upholstered in soft leather
or saddle-leather, and the saddlery work for
the automotive sector reflect the experience
and
inimitable
precision
craftsmanship
of the Poltrona Frau artisans. Know-how
handed down for generations by its artisans,
