Con Eres abbiamo valorizzato piante poco utilizzate
nella cultura occidentale come l’igusa, celebre per la
tessitura dei tatami giapponesi. Un materiale attivo,
che purifica l’aria e assorbe l’umidità per poi rilasciarla
quando necessario, contribuendo a mantenere un
microclima costante nell’ambiente in cui è inserito.
Per le nostre sedute abbiamo scelto una lavorazione
che rende la tessitura del tatami snodabile ed elastica,
conferendole l’aspetto di un materassino. Le fibre di
igusa più irregolari e meno pregiate sono state utilizzate
per le imbottiture, con un effetto moltiplicatore delle
caratteristiche benefiche della pianta.
With Eres we have enhanced the plants which are
not generally used in the western culture, like Igusa,
renowned for the weaving of Japanese tatamis. It is
an active material, which purifies the air and absorbs
humidity, to release it again if needed, contributing to
maintain a constant microclimate in the environment
in which it is used. For our seatings, we have chosen
a processing that makes the tatami weave jointed and
elastic, giving it the appearance of a pad. Igusa fibers,
which are more irregular and lower quality, have been
used for the paddings, resulting in a multiplier effect of
the beneficial characteristics of the plant.
