Il design non si limita a dare nuova
forma a un oggetto, ma indaga e mette
in discussione le sue caratteristiche
intrinseche, alla ricerca di soluzioni
tecniche, strutturali, funzionali
ed estetiche che lo rinnovino e gli
aggiungano valore. Un valore che non
riguarda solo chi lo acquista, ma si
allarga anche al contesto ambientale,
lavorativo, sociale, economico.
Le parole chiave che ci hanno sempre
accompagnato nel nostro lavoro
– resistenza, stabilità, solidità –
equivalgono a un modo di guardare
le cose. Sono termini che individuano
particolarità tecniche di filati
e materiali, e insieme rimandano
anche a precise indicazioni valoriali.
Design does not stop at endowing
an object with a new shape and form.
Instead it questions and investigates
that object’s intrinsic characteristics,
in a quest for technical, structural,
functional, and esthetic solutions that
can make it new and different, giving
it enhanced worth. This new value
does not abide merely with whoever
purchases it; it spreads to, and
influences, a broader environmental,
occupational, social, and economic
context.
The key words that have always
been front of mind for us in the work
we do – durability, stability, solidity –
are tantamount to a worldview.
These are terms that denote the
technical characteristics of yarns
and materials, but they also refer
to specific value judgments.
