Gli arredi della collezione Eres, per
tonalità cromatiche, sensazioni tattili,
caratteristiche peculiari delle materie
prime selezionate, recuperano il piacere
del contatto con i materiali vegetali,
utilizzati nella loro piena essenza
senza ricorso alla chimica e lavorati per
potenziarne le naturali caratteristiche
di resistenza, leggerezza, traspirabilità.
Poiché naturale non significa
automaticamente sostenibile, le nostre
scelte si sono orientate a piante erbacee
e arbustive a crescita stagionale, trattate
senza alterazioni chimiche e lavorate
in modo da migliorarne le intrinseche
qualità.
Per Eres abbiamo selezionato il lino,
una fibra tessile dalla storia millenaria,
ma anche una pianta rustica, la cui
coltivazione non richiede irrigazione,
fertilizzanti, erbicidi e antiparassitari,
come pure la canapa, per secoli
un’eccellenza italiana per produzione
e trasformazione. Insieme a queste fibre
sono state scelte essenze più esotiche
come bambù, rafia, igusa e abaca,
caratterizzate dalla capacità di rigenerare
terreni degradati e soggetti a erosione,
di metabolizzare rapidamente la CO2, di
avere una rapida crescita.
The furnishings created for the Eres
collection, in terms of their color palettes,
tactile sensations, and the specific
characteristics of the raw materials
utilized, restore the pleasure of contact
with plant materials, utilized in their full
and natural essence without recourse to
chemical intervention and processed and
manufactured in such a way as to enhance
their natural characteristics of strength,
lightness, and breathability.
Since natural does not automatically
mean sustainable, our choices have lined
up along a series of herbaceous plants and
shrubs with seasonal growth, which can
be utilized without chemical alteration
and processed and manufactured in such
a way as to enhance and highlight their
intrinsic qualities.
For Eres, we have selected linen, a
textile fiber with thousands of years of
history, but also a hardy plant, whose
cultivation requires neither irrigation, nor
fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides.
Along with linen, we have focused on hemp,
too, for centuries a specialty of Italian
agriculture in terms of production and
manufacturing, as well as more exotic
plants, such as bamboo, raphia, rush grass
(igusa, in Japanese), and abaca (or Manila
hemp), characterized by their ability to
replenish soil that has been degraded or
is subject to erosion, to metabolize CO2,
and to grow rapidly.
