Chu’i disegnava a mano cerchi più perfetti di quanto si
potessero creare con un compasso; le sue dita sapevano
dipingere forme spontanee nate dal nulla, la sua men-
te vagava libera e nemmeno conosceva cosa facesse il
corpo. Chu’i non aveva bisogno di impegnarsi, il suo pen-
siero era così semplice e tranquillo da non avere ostacoli.
Chu’i was an artist who could draw more perfect circles
freehand than with a compass; his fingers could bring
about spontaneous forms from nowhere, while his mind
was wandering free without concern with what his body
was doing. Chu’i needed no application, his mind was so
perfectly simple, neat and calm and knew no obstacles.
