Designers
Hannes Wettstein was one of the most
influential designers of his generation.
Born in 1958 in Ascona, he graduated
as an architectural draughtsman and
then guided his own further studies
as designer and architect. Driven by
a passion for art and technology and
from his impulse to investigate and
improve the things around him, he
would develop more than 300 works of
design in the years that followed. These
included furnishings, lighting, watches,
industrial products and architectural
projects for international clients and
brands. In 2008 Hannes Wettstein died
in Zurich at the age of 50. His business
partner, architect and designer Stephan
Hürlemann, continued the Zurich
agency in accordance with Wettstein’s
wishes.
The agency of Swiss designer Hannes
Wettstein (1958 – 2008) was continued
after his death by his business partner
Stephan Hürlemann. Under the name
of Studio Hannes Wettstein Hürlemann
and a design collective developed
furniture, product and architectural
projects for international clients and
brands. After Hürlemann emerged as
the creative lead at the agency it was
renamed Hürlemann in 2016.
Hannes Wettstein è stato uno dei
più importanti designer della sua
generazione. Nato nel 1958 ad Ascona,
si diploma in disegno architettonico
e prosegue i suoi studi diventando
designer e architetto. Spinto dalla
passione per l’arte e la tecnologia,
e sempre attento ad analizzare e
migliorare ciò che lo circonda, ha
saputo sviluppare più di 300 progetti,
tra i quali: mobili, lampade, orologi,
complementi d’arredo e progetti
di architettura per clienti e marchi
internazionali. Hannes Wettstein muore
nel 2008 a Zurigo, all’età di 50 anni.
Successivamente alla sua scomparsa,
il suo socio, l’architetto e designer
Stephan Hürlemann, rispettando le sue
volontà, ha continuato l’attività dello
studio di Zurigo.
Dopo la scomparsa del designer
svizzero Hannes Wettstein (1958 –
2008), il socio Stephan Hürlemann
ha continuato l’attività dello studio
in collaborazione con un collettivo
di designer, progettando, sotto il
nome di Studio Hannes Wettstein,
mobili, complementi di uso comune
e progetti di architettura per clienti
e marchi internazionali. Hürlemann
è poi diventato il direttore creativo
dello studio che ha preso il nome di
Hürlemann nel 2016.
