I like to think of my designs as
functional sculptures, so form is of
immense importance to me. I am
a graduate of industrial design at
the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw,
currently a product designer and the
author of the EVO chair.
In my work, priorities include
form, functionality, timelessness,
and material exploration. Evo is my
first chair, created when I was still a
student. Returning to it years later
allowed me to see how design trends
and my own style had evolved. I
wanted to add a contemporary accent
while maintaining clarity. I focused
on improving the backrest and the
seat, exploring various concepts such
as rope weaving. Matching the solid
wood chair structure, I chose durable,
UV-resistant rope, ensuring durability
both indoors and outdoors. I also
experimented with soft, upholstered
backrests, transforming EVO's min-
imalist design into a cosier version.
These different variants represent
contrasting features, almost like alter
egos, reflecting the dynamic nature of
design evolution.
Lubię myśleć o moich projektach jako
o funkcjonalnych rzeźbach, dlatego
forma ma dla mnie ogromne znacze-
nie. Jestem absolwentką wzornictwa
przemysłowego na Akademii Sztuk
Pięknych w Warszawie, obecnie
projektantką produktu i autorką
krzesła EVO.
W mojej pracy priorytetem są
forma, funkcjonalność, ponadczaso-
wość i eksploracja materiału. Evo to
moje pierwsze krzesło, które powstało
jeszcze w czasie studiów. Powrót do
niego po latach pozwolił mi dostrzec
ewolucję trendów projektowych
i mojego własnego stylu. Pragnęłam
dodać współczesny akcent, zachowu-
jąc jednocześnie klarowność. Skupiłam
się na udoskonaleniu obszaru oparcia
i siedziska, eksplorując różne
koncepcje, takie jak plecionka z liny.
Eksperymentowałam z miękkimi,
tapicerowanymi oparciami, zmieniając
minimalistyczny design EVO w bardziej
przytulną wersję. Te różne warianty
reprezentują przeciwstawne cechy,
niemal jak alter ego, odzwiercie-
dlając dynamiczną naturę ewolucji
projektowania.
