Sofie Refer is an internationally
awarded Danish lighting designer.
Rooted
in
the
Scandinavian
design tradition, she considers
respect for nature and the beauty
of simplicity as two of the most
valuable qualities in her designs.
With esteem for the tradition,
Sofie likes to challenge the
perception. With curiosity, she
interprets the riches, generosity,
and extravagance found in nature
in her lighting design.
With a long and distinguished
career in the field of lighting, and
a fascination for chandeliers, the
Italian architect Paolo Rizzatto
has designed the Rizzatto col-
lection for Nuura. Paolo Rizzatto
was born in Milan in 1941, where
he studied for his degree in
architecture at Milan Polytechnic
in 1965 when he was 24. Rizzatto
works as a freelance in the fields
of architecture, interiors, design,
lighting, and teaching. He founded
Luceplan together with Riccardo
Sarfatti in 1978.

PAOLO RIZZATTO
Nika Zupanc is a globally recog-
nized name, who works from her
studio as a product and interior
designer on own projects and
collaborations with established
design companies. Her design
philosophy is built on the search
for an icon; a recognisable form,
colour or material reinterpret-
ed into a physical product. The
romantic, extravagant approach
to
design
emphasizes
her
feminine objects with a theatrical
and rebellious appeal but always
with a poetic story to it.
The Dutch designer Rick Tegalaar
has a creative process of rede-
fining materials and developing
innovative
product
designs,
which
has
formed
the
Sasi
collection for Nuura. Rick Tegelaar
was born in Rotterdam in 1986
and
graduated
with
honour
in product design from ArtEZ
Academy, Arnhem in 2011. Since
then, he has worked as an inde-
pendent designer from his atelier
and design studio, working on
self-initiated and commissioned
bespoke projects.
