Oku draws its name from the Japanese word for oak, ‘Ōku,’ reflecting the essence
of the design. The table plays with the interplay of light and heavy, appearing
paper-thin from one angle while revealing its solid form from another. The Oku
tabletop is produced in oak veneer with rounded edges, while the legs, crafted
from turned oak, are positioned offset to create the illusion of a floating surface.
