In a desire to create a natural and raw dining
table, bringing life and character to the living
room, we created the Rough table. The Rough
table is made of a single solid piece of Suar
with a thickness of between 10-12 centimetres
and width from 80 to 120 centimetres. Suar is
a common type of tree in Asia that can grow
up to 25 meters high. All wood used for the
Rough tables is certified and inspected. Our
craftspeople carefully handpick each and every
tree before cutting them down to 2.2, 3 or 4
meter slabs. Depending on the humidity, the
slabs are allowed to dry for up to four months.
Once dry, each table top is hand sanded and hand
buffed with leather, making the table lovely and
smooth. Natural cracks and holes will appear,
some of which we repair and fill and others that
we leave as beauty marks on the table.
The non-linear form reflecting the natural
growth of the tree and the beautiful grainy
pattern of the Suar makes each piece unique.
The grain of the wood runs beautifully through
the table and sprouts of branches and texture
of the bark can be visible. To make sure you get
your dream table we give everyone an option of at
least three different table tops to choose from.
The Rough Table is a table for life, durable and
strong, easy to maintain and optimal for either
inside or outside settings. The Maiden Table
legs partner well with the Rough table with
their curved design and slim profile.
