For over 10 years Danish Rune Krøjgaard
and Norwegian Knut Bendik Humlevik have
formed a design and production team working
for multiple Scandinavian design brands. In
2011 they launched their first collection for
NORR11, a collection that grew to become
a wide range of furniture, accessories and
lights. Their work is characterised by high
understanding for materials and organic
and pure use of shapes. For them, simplicity,
aesthetics and comfort are the key elements
in their creations.
Rune is born in Herning in Denmark and a
graduate of 'The Royal Academy of Fine Arts,
School of Architecture' in Copenhagen. Rune’s
design is all about being able to 'see new
possibilities' and finding 'the simplicity through
the shape and dimension' of a body. Thus his
objects are meant to 'complement the eye and
the body' and create a 'relation between shape
and space'.
Knut is born in Bergen, Norway and is like
Rune a graduate of 'The Royal Academy of Fine
Arts, School of Architecture' in Copenhagen.
Knut has a great interest in the entirety and
dynamics of his designs and creations, based on
the material's natural ability. For him, design is
seeing the balance in a product and trimming
away all unnecessary details.
