STUDIO SOFA
6
In Midtown Manhattan in 1977, a former TV studio and
opera house was turned into the iconic nightclub, Studio
54. Amidst the unforgettable parties, a fluted upholstered
sofa bore witness to the revelries. Four decades later, it
became the spark of inspiration for the Studio collection
— a design echoing the bold and expressive forms of
late 70s sofa styles, refined in a contemporary way, giving
the series its unique identity.
The original concept for Studio drew inspiration from
the sunken lounge sofas of the 1970s. Its aim was to
infuse the relaxed, laid-back essence of lounging into
the design, while offering a higher degree of modernity
and flexibility. Featuring a versatile yet simple system
of modules, Studio offers a variety of options to form
numerous settings, shapes and styles. It seamlessly
blends into all sorts of environments, be it private
residences, hospitality settings, offices and commercial
spaces. With a 360-degree finish, each module can be a
stand-alone piece or reversed to create a two-sided sofa.
