The Riff Sofa is a study of the classic modular sofa, elaborating on its simple
boxy modules. The word ‘Riff’ comes from the world of jazz music and refers to a
short, repeated phrase or melody that musicians borrow and elaborate on during
a performance. The fluted upholstery of the back adds a certain rhythm to the
minimalist sofa modules, transforming the modular sofa into a refined piece of
furniture.
