Cage...
L’estetica di un oggetto ormai in disuso, la
gabbia, resa contemporanea dall’utilizzo di luce
glaciale enfatizzata attraverso forme e colori
veneziani. Sbarre che cercano di rinchiudere
insetti, senza capire che questo è il modo giusto
per renderli più liberi.
Una gabbia che non imprigiona, la raffinatezza
leggera di farfalle in vetro soffiato, ed una
lavorazione tradizionale tipica della cultura
artigianale muranese. Eleganti sbarre di vetro
non possono imprigionare farfalle inondate
di luce. Cage è un progetto di Leo de Carlo,
che ha preso forma tra le fiamme della nostra
fornace ed è cresciuto nel nostro laboratorio. Un
prodotto artigianale dal design contemporaneo,
che attinge a tecniche tipiche della tradizione
muranese.
The aesthetics of a now disused object, the
cage, made contemporary by the use of glacial
light emphasised through Venetian shapes
and colours. Bars that try to enclose insects,
without realising that this is the right way to set
them free.
A cage that does not imprison, the light
refinement of blown glass butterflies, and a
traditional workmanship typical of Murano's
handicraft culture. Elegant glass bars cannot
imprison butterflies bathed in light. Cage is a
project by Leo de Carlo, which took shape in the
flames of our furnace and grew in our workshop.
A handcrafted product with a contemporary
design, which draws on techniques typical of
the Murano tradition.
