Spring collection dimostra come,
partendo dalla poltrona Soft Big Easy
(prima versione morbida di uno dei
progetti più rappresentativi del designer)
un volume, in quanto semplice forma,
possa essere tradotto in prodotto
industriale attraverso una
reinterpretazione dei materiali e dei
processi produttivi. Il risultato è una vera
e propria antologia del lavoro di Ron
Arad, oggetti-icona, unici per morfologia
e dinamica della forma, nati da un gesto
artistico ma, allo stesso tempo, portatori
di un linguaggio progettuale collocabile
nello spazio intermedio tra design,
scultura e architettura.
Designed by Ron Arad in 1989,
Spring collection is a demonstration
of how volume, as a simple form,
can be translated into an industrial
product by reinterpreting the materials
and production processes, starting
with the Soft Big Easy armchair
(the first soft version of one of the
designer’s most iconic pieces).
The result is an anthology of Ron Arad’s
works, icon-objects, unique for their
morphology and dynamic forms, an
artistic statement but also a recognisable
design language at the crossroads
of design, sculpture and architecture.
