Il baseball è uno degli sport dove il gioco di squadra è decisivo. Non
solo richiede una grande preparazione atletica, come nella maggior parte
delle attività ginniche, ma presuppone una forte sintonia di gruppo con tutti
gli atleti in campo. Le regole del buon giocatore verso gli avversari, verso
l’arbitro e i tifosi, ma anche nei confronti dei propri compagni di squadra,
sono fondamentali per divertirsi in modo sano e leale. Dunque non si
compete in maniera individuale o soltanto per sé stessi ma consapevoli che
si fa parte di un team, evitando discussioni, polemiche, e ricordando che
bisogna saper vincere e saper perdere, imparando dagli errori e mostrando
il rispetto per le regole. Lo sport è prima di tutto un gioco che si trasforma
in un momento formativo importante per bambini e ragazzi, i quali
impareranno che nella vita si vince e si perde, e ciò che conta è impegnarsi
sempre, apprezzando ogni momento condiviso con i compagni, dentro e
fuori dal campo.
Baseball is one of those sports where team play is decisive. Not only
does it need excellent athletic training, like in the majority of sports, it also
requires great team work, with all the athletes in the field. The rules of
good sportsmanship towards the opposing team, the referee and the fans,
but also towards fellow team-mates, are an essential part of having good
clean fun. That’s why players don’t play alone or just for themselves. They
are all aware of being part of a team, avoiding arguments and discussions,
and remembering that knowing how to win is just as important as knowing
how to lose, learning from mistakes and playing by the rules. Sport is first
and foremost all about playing and this can be an important teaching
opportunity for children and teens, who will learn that you win and lose
in life, but what counts is doing your best at all times, appreciating every
moment shared with team mates, on and off the pitch.
