L’emozione più grande è al momento del decollo, ti guardi intorno e
scopri che stai salendo. Volare è sempre stato un sogno per l’uomo: librarsi
nel cielo, leggeri e poter viaggiare senza il peso della gravità. La mongolfiera
incarna perfettamente il simbolo del volo, l’idea di fluttuare liberi senza
vincoli nel vento delle emozioni, nel cielo della vita e nell’orizzonte, inteso
come futuro. Per questo la mongolfiera è anche simbolo di libertà: in quanto
mezzo di trasporto, ci permette di fare un viaggio, di conoscere posti nuovi,
nuove persone, nuove culture. È lasciare libera la propria curiosità, è aprirsi
a nuove esperienze, scoprire altri mondi dove possiamo essere noi stessi.
L’esperienza del volo, anche metaforica, è importante anche per i bambini
perché li aiuta a crescere forti ed indipendenti, li stimola a superare gli
ostacoli e le difficoltà. Come spiega bene Jim Taylor, dottore in psicologia
dell’Università di San Francisco, quando i figli hanno stabilito il loro senso di
sicurezza, bisogna incoraggiarli ad esplorare il mondo oltre il porto sicuro
che i genitori rappresentano. Questa “spinta fuori dal nido” consente loro
di mettere alla prova le proprie capacità nel mondo reale e di trovare un
proprio senso di competenza, sicurezza e indipendenza.

and discover that you are going up. Flying has always been a dream for
mankind: to soar through the sky, weightless, and to be able to travel
without the weight of gravity. The hot air balloon perfectly embodies
the symbol of flight, the idea of floating free without constraints in the
wind of emotions, in the sky of life and in the horizon, understood as
the future. This is why the hot air balloon is also a symbol of freedom:
as a means of transport, it allows us to take a trip, to get to know new
places, new people, and new cultures. It is to set one’s curiosity free,
it is to open up to new experiences, to discover other worlds where we
can be ourselves. The experience of flying, even metaphorically, is also
important for children because it helps them to grow up strong and
independent, encourages them to overcome obstacles and difficulties.
As Jim Taylor, Ph.D. in psychology at the University of San Francisco,
explains: when children have established their sense of security, they
should be encouraged to explore the world beyond the safe haven that
their parents represent. This “pushing them out of the nest” allows
them to test their skills in the real world and find their own sense of
competence, security and independence.
