La sostenibilità non è più solo uno slogan ma sta assumendo un valore
misurabile, fortemente etico sotto tanti punti di vista: economico, sociale
e ambientale. Parte dalla responsabilità di ognuno di capirne il significato,
il ruolo concreto che può svolgere e gli effetti moltiplicatori. Una
consapevolezza che si trasforma in un’azione concreta ed efficace rispetto
al contesto che sogniamo più bello, sano e pulito. Sostenibile è soprattutto
equo e inclusivo e si concretizza con scelte di vita quotidiana, a casa, al
lavoro e a scuola, nel tempo libero e nello sport. La carta della sostenibilità
degli sport invernali ne è un esempio e mira a contrastare l’impatto che
l’attività fisica ha su territori ricchi di biodiversità e che rappresentano un
prezioso patrimonio naturale e ambientale. Attraverso lo sport si possono
comunicare valori e messaggi e lo sanno bene alcuni atleti, grandi campioni
di solidarietà, abituati a stilare il proprio bilancio sociale e di missione,
ripresi ed emulati sempre più spesso da persone comuni.
Sustainability is no longer just a buzzword, it is about embracing
measurable, ethical values in the economic, social and environmental
fields. It is important to understand what the word truly means, the
concrete role it can play, and its multiplier effects. This awareness can
be transformed into concrete and effective action that contributes to a
beautiful, healthy and clean world. Above all, sustainability is about being
fair and inclusive, and is best expressed through our daily life choices,
at home, at work, at school, in our free time and while playing sport.
The winter sports sustainability charter is a great example of concrete
action and aims to counteract the impact sports can have on regions
rich in biodiversity, which represent precious natural and environmental
heritage. Sports allow us to communicate certain values and messages,
and many athletes and sports champions – who are used to devising
sustainability reports and missions, which appeal to and are emulated by
an increasing number of ordinary people – are well aware of this.
