Volare è sempre stato il sogno degli esseri umani, un incantesimo che
ha affascinato le grandi personalità del passato e non smette di sedurre
adulti, di incuriosire bambini coraggiosi e amanti della libertà. Il volo rimane
il simbolo di una rivoluzione che si trasforma in movimento, spazio, volontà
e indipendenza. Una rivoluzione ancora più potente quando la passione per
il volo è incarnata da una figura femminile come Amelia Earhart, la prima
donna a sorvolare l’atlantico in solitaria. Volare è un mix di autonomia,
coraggio e audacia, tratti caratteristici di una personalità vivace, curiosa
dagli interessi variegati. Ma il volo è anche metafora e forse per questo
motivo è tra i sogni più ricorrenti e comuni sia nei bambini che negli adulti
e assume più di un significato. Il tratto comune resta quella sensazione di
leggerezza, di libertà e di assenza di barriere. L’immagine del volo manifesta
un bisogno di evasione dalla vita quotidiana e di liberazione rispetto ai limiti
imposti. Ma soprattutto, nell’età dell’infanzia e dell’adolescenza, il volo
esprime la voglia di fantasticare e il desiderio dei ragazzi di allontanarsi
dalle prime responsabilità della vita adulta.
People have always dreamed of flying, which has enchanted and
bewitched the great personages of the past, and has never stopped
appealing to adults or sparking the curiosity of intrepid, freedom-loving
children. Flight has always been a symbol of revolution, transformed into
movement, space, desire and independence. An even greater revolution
happens when our passion for flight is embodied by a female figure such
as Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic. Flying
is a mix of independence, courage and daring, characteristics traits in a
lively, curious personality with a wide range of interests. But flying is also
a metaphor, which is perhaps why it is one of the most common recurring
dreams for children and adults alike, taking on more than one meaning.
The shared trait is the feeling of lightness, freedom and an absence of
barriers. The image of flight reveals a need for escape from daily living,
and freedom with regard to the limits imposed. But above all, during
childhood and adolescence, flight expresses a desire to dream and also
the wish, among young people, to leave the initial responsibilities of
adult life behind them.
